Vegan mayo is made up of three basic ingredients – soy milk, oil and salt. Let me break them down a bit for you. Soy milk – You're going to need to use soy milk for this recipe. Truthfully, apart from almond milk, it's the vegan milk I always have in stock.
Due to the presence of egg yolk, mayo typically isn't vegan friendly. This means that a lot of commonly-found mayo is not suitable for those on a plant-based diet. However, as more people are experimenting with plant-based diets, several brands have launched a vegan mayo to reflect the growing market.
Is miracle whip vegan? No. Miracle whip contains egg, which is an animal product. So, it is not vegan.
It has a sweeter flavor (due to brown rice syrup) and a much thicker texture than Just Mayo, which some tasters described as "creamy," while others called "stiff" when used as a dip.
Vegan mayo is generally a bit healthier than egg-based or non-vegan mayo, containing less saturated fats and Vegenaise contains almost no cholesterol, which can't be said in the case of an original jar of Hellman's.
Is sour cream vegan? No, as it's generally made from cow's milk, sour cream is not suitable for anyone on a vegan diet. However, there are plenty of plant-based alternatives that skip out the diary bit.
CAN VEGANS EAT RANCH? Yes, of course, as long as it's vegan! Traditional ranch dressings contain mayo though, so are not vegan. There are vegan ranch dressing brands out there, but they are full of oil and unhealthy ingredients.

Why is mayo not vegan?
Because mayonnaise has egg in it, it's not vegan. A food product that's vegan is made without any animal products. Instead of eggs, commercial vegan mayonnaise brands may use aquafaba, which is the thick liquid from cooking or soaking chickpeas.
The big difference between vegan mayonnaise and traditional mayo really comes down to the egg substitute. "We use vegetable proteins in place of eggs," explains Bob Goldberg, cofounder of Follow Your Heart, the manufacturer of one of the OG vegan mayonnaises Vegenaise.

Vegan mayonnaise is made of two main ingredients: soy milk (or aquafaba) and oil. Therefore, vegan mayo is different from regular mayonnaise, which combines egg and oil. Even though the ingredients are different, it is an excellent substitute for regular mayonnaise.
